LOS ANGELES, June 6 (UPI) -- British actress Carey Mulligan is up for the lead in the Hillary Rodham Clinton bio-picture, "Rodham," The Hollywood Reporter said.

Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone were all rumored to be in the running for the role, however, the filmmakers are eager to have Mulligan play the young lawyer before she became first lady, senator and secretary of state, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said, adding no deal has been signed.

Mulligan's film credits include "The Great Gatsby," "An Education," "Drive" and "Never Let Me Go."
