Jared Harris and Allegra Riggio get engaged

MALIBU, Calif., June 4 (UPI) -- Actor Jared Harris has proposed to his longtime girlfriend, TV personality and lighting designer Allegra Riggio, on a Malibu beach at sunset, E! said.

The couple met at a comedy club and have been dating for more than three years.

Harris gave Riggio a heart-shaped diamond ring with a mounting in the shape of an "H" for Harris, which Riggio happily accepted Sunday, E! said Tuesday.

"We're engaged! #TeamHarris" Riggio confirmed via Twitter.

Harris is the son of late Irish actor Richard Harris. His film credits include "Lincoln" and "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows." He also played a recurring role on "Mad Men."
