LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Ashley Judd is considering a move from film to politics, and may challenge U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2014, The Atlantic Wire reported.

The "Someone Like You" and "Kiss the Girls" star dined with a handful of high-profile Democrats in Louisville, Ky., last week, sparking speculation she is gearing up to run against the state's Republican senator, the report said.

The dinner was held at the home of Christy Brown, the widow of Brown-Forman executive Owsley Brown II, and was attended by the commonwealth's only Democratic congressman, John Yarmuth, and former party chairman, Jonathan Miller.

The Atlantic Wire said Judd also has contacted the Democratic polling firm Global Strategy Group, as well as talked to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., who successfully ran in a conservative House district in New York before entering the Senate.

Judd, 44, has not publicly announced any intention to run for political office.

Last month she confirmed she and race-car driver Dario Franchitti plan to divorce after 11 years of marriage.
