'Madagascar 3' tops DVD sales chart

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- The animated adventure "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" is the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray in the United States, Rentrak reported Thursday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD & Blu-ray sales roster for the week ending Oct. 14 is "Prometheus," followed by "The Avengers" at No. 3, "That's My Boy" at No. 4 and "Chernobyl Diaries" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Cinderella" at No. 6, "Moonrise Kingdom" at No. 7, "Rock of Ages" at No. 8, "Avatar" at No. 9 and "Dark Shadows" at No. 10.

"The Avengers" is the No. 1 DVD rental for the week ended Oct. 20.

"Snow White and the Huntsman" is No. 2, "Battleship" is No. 3, "Five-Year Engagement" is No. 4, "Dark Shadows" is No. 5, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is No. 6, "The Cabin in the Woods" is No. 7, "The Hunger Games" is No. 8, "Prometheus" is No. 9 and "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" at No. 10.
