'Bourne' tops N. American box office

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- The action flick "The Bourne Legacy" topped the weekend box office in North America, raking in $40.3 million, Rentrak reported.

Coming in at No. 2 was "The Campaign" with $27.4 million, followed by "The Dark Knight Rises" with $19.5 million, "Hope Springs" at No. 4 with $15.6 million and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" at No. 5 with $8.2 million.

Rounding out the top tier are "Total Recall" with $8.1 million, "Ice Age: Continental Drift" at No. 7 with $6.8 million, "Ted" at No. 8 with $3.3 million and "Step Up Revolution" at No. 9 with $2.9 million.

Tied at No. 10 with $2.2 million are "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Watch."
