De Niro, Pfeiffer to star in Besson's mob comedy

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., July 18 (UPI) -- Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones have signed on for roles in French filmmaker Luc Besson's "Malavita," the action comedy's producers said.

EuropaCorp and Relativity Media said Dianna Agron and John D'Leo have joined the cast of the film, which is set to go into production this summer.

Adapted by Besson from the book "Badfellas" by author Tonino Benacquista, "Malavita" tells the story of the Manzonis, a notorious organized crime family who gets relocated to Normandy, France, under the witness protection program.

The film is set for a 2013 release.
