Chris Hemsworth's wife gives birth to daughter

LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has confirmed his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, gave birth to their first child, a girl they named India.

People.com confirmed the baby was born Friday, but didn't report where it happened or how much she weighed.

"We love the country and love the name," the 28-year-old actor told USA Today about his daughter's name.

Hemsworth, 28, and Pataky, 38, married in 2010.

The actor is known for his work in the films "Thor" and "The Avengers." His wife appeared in "Fast Five."
