Davis, Thompson headline 'Beautiful Creatures' film

BURBANK, Calif., May 9 (UPI) -- Shooting has begun in and around New Orleans on "Beautiful Creatures," the film adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's novel, producers said.

Richard LaGravenese, whose films include "The Fisher King" and "P.S. I Love You," is directing "Beautiful Creatures" from a screenplay he penned, Alcon Entertainment said Monday.

Starring Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Alden Ehrenreich, newcomer Alice Englert, and Academy Award winners Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson, the movie is described in a synopsis as "a hauntingly intense, supernatural love story set in the South."
