Ekberg asks Fellini Foundation for financial support

ROME, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Swedish actress Anita Ekberg, who is 80 and living in an Italian nursing home, is asking the Fellini Foundation for economic support, her accountant said.

Ekberg is best known for her work in director Federico Fellini's classic 1960 film "La Dolce Vita."

ANSA said the former actress has been experiencing financial difficulties following a broken leg, house fire and theft of jewelry and furniture from her home.

The Fellini Foundation was created by the late filmmaker's sister and the Italian city of Rimini to promote his legacy.

The ANSA report did not say if the foundation plans to help Ekberg financially as her accountant has requested.
