Tomlin honored at Georgia film festival

SAVANNAH, Ga., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Actress Lily Tomlin was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 14th annual Savannah Film Festival this week, organizers said.

"Thank you all so much. I'm delighted to be a guest of SCAD and Savannah," Tomlin said at Wednesday's event. "I'm so thrilled to be here with these art and design students. … I say to all the students, do something audacious that portends to be humiliating."

Tomlin, 72, continued to thank attendees and blew kisses to the crowd as she left the stage, a news release from the Savannah School of Art Design said.

The "9 to 5" and "The West Wing" actress has won six Emmys, two Tonys, a Grammy, two Peabodys and numerous other notable prizes for her acting, producing and narrating.

She currently co-stars on the Showtime series "Web Therapy" and has recurring roles on "NCIS" and "Eastbound and Down."
