'Help' still parked atop U.S. box office

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- "The Help," with Emma Stone and an ensemble cast, led the U.S. box office for the third straight weekend with more than $14.2 million.

"The Debt," with Helen Mirren, was second with more than $9.67 million.

All studio estimates of U.S. weekend gross receipts are via Box Office Mojo. The figures do not include ticket sales for the Labor Day holiday Monday.

"Apollo 18" was third with $8.7 million; "Shark Night" fourth with $8.64 million; "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" fifth with $7.8 million; "Colombiana" sixth with $7.4 million; "Our Idiot Brother" seventh with more than $5.18 million; "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" eighth with more than $4.94 million; and "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World" ninth with more than $4.63 million.

"The Smurfs" rounded out the top 10 with $4 million.
