Al Pacino's daughter busted in New York

NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- Julie Marie Pacino, daughter of actor Al Pacino, was charged with drunken driving and driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, New York police said.

Police pulled Pacino over about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Manhattan and she allegedly told officers she had consumed several beers and smoked marijuana in the hours before she was stopped, the New York Post reported Sunday.

Asked if she had been drinking, Pacino, 21, allegedly said, "I had about three beers and I smoked weed at home … a few hours ago."

She was taken to the 7th Precinct station house and given a Breathalyzer test. She reportedly registered 0.12 on the test, above the legal limit of 0.08.

NBC News of New York said she was stopped because the California registration sticker on her 2009 Mercedes Benz was expired.

Al Pacino couldn't be reached for comment, a representative said.

Julie Marie Pacino finished her first movie short in 2009 and produced a full-length movie, "Billy Bates," this year.

It wasn't known if Pacino had an attorney and it wasn't immediately known how long she was detained.
