LOS ANGELES, June 23 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan canceled an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer after he traveled from New York to her home in Los Angeles, a "Today" representative said.

Lohan's once-bright film career has been eclipsed in recent years by her legal woes and battles with addiction.

The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star is serving a house arrest sentence for violating her probation by stealing a $2,500 necklace.

The Hollywood Reporter said Lohan scrapped the interview with Lauer after he showed up at her house Wednesday to tape the interview, which was to air on "Today" and "Dateline."

"Matt traveled to Los Angeles after Lindsay Lohan agreed to a sit-down interview at her home," a "Today" representative told the entertainment industry trade newspaper. "When he arrived at her home, she had a change of heart and wasn't prepared to talk for more than 15 minutes as she had agreed, so the interview was canceled."

TMZ reported Wednesday Lohan tested positive for alcohol last week, violating the terms of her house arrest.

She is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court Thursday morning to address the matter.
