'Zombies' finds its Elizabeth Bennet

LOS ANGELES, June 22 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Emma Stone has been cast in the big-screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel "Pride, Prejudice and Zombies," Variety said.

"Zombies" injects a horror element into Jane Austen's classic early 19th century romance "Pride and Prejudice."

Stone, whose credits include "Zombieland" and "Easy A," will play the film's heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, Variety reported Wednesday.

Craig Gillespie ("United States of Tara," "Lars and the Real Girl") is to direct the movie, which Grahame-Smith is writing with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" scribe and "Mad Men" writer-producer Marti Noxon.
