Leslie Nielsen leaves 'em laughing

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 5 (UPI) -- The new tombstone on actor Leslie Nielsen's grave in Florida includes the traditional abbreviation for Rest in Peace along with a salute to his favorite jokes.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel said Sunday the epitaph at the comic star's final resting place in Fort Lauderdale reads, "Let 'er RIP," which brings to mind his love of low flatulence humor.

Nielsen, the star of the comedy classics "Naked Gun" and "Airplane," lived in retirement in Fort Lauderdale until his death last year at the age of 84.

The Sun Sentinel said a new bench under a shade tree near the grave at Evergreen Cemetery includes his advice to "Sit down whenever you can."
