LOS ANGELES, June 4 (UPI) -- Shia LaBeouf says former Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will have an easier time in the "Transformers" franchise than the departed Megan Fox.

LaBeouf told the Los Angeles Times he believes Fox was never comfortable with the fan-boy atmosphere fostered by director Michael Bay, but her replacement should be more comfortable.

"Rosie comes with this Victoria's Secret background, and she's comfortable with it, so she can get down with Mike's way of working and it makes the whole set vibe very different," said LaBeouf, an actor in the "Transformers" franchise.

LaBeouf speculated Fox never adapted to life as a walking pinup for a teenage male audience. "This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America," he said.

LaBeouf said he believes Huntington-Whiteley's character will work better with his role of Sam than Fox's tougher persona, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

"This woman's more of a maternal, loving type," he said. "Sam wants a domestic, eggs-in-the-morning kind of a thing."
