Lionsgate, Dish settle Blockbuster beef

LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Lionsgate and Dish Network, which now owns Blockbuster, said they settled their legal dispute over revenue sharing.

A spokesman for Lionsgate said Friday the issues had been amicably resolved, which The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday cleared a potential obstacle to bankruptcy proceedings that resulted in the sale of Blockbuster to Dish Network.

Lionsgate had filed a motion for reconsideration of the deal on the grounds Lionsgate was owed money for rental movies the studio had provided to Blockbuster under a revenue-sharing agreement.

"We look forward to continuing a productive, long-term business relationship with Dish and their Blockbuster affiliate in the future," the Lionsgate spokesman told The Reporter.
