Cage called Dog the Bounty Hunter for bail

NEW ORLEANS, April 18 (UPI) -- Reality TV star Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman has confirmed he bailed film actor Nicolas Cage out of a New Orleans jail during the weekend.

Cage, 47, was arrested on charges of domestic violence, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness after a loud outdoor argument with his wife, Alice Kim, about which rented house was theirs.

UsMagazine.com said Chapman posted Cage's $11,000 bond after the Saturday night incident.

"I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy," Chapman told E! News. "I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show."

Asked how he got involved in the Cage incident, Chapman said, "This is what I do for a living.

"There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested and pick them up if they don't show up in court," he said. "I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage."

Cage won an Oscar for his portrayal of an alcoholic in "Leaving Las Vegas." His other film credits include "Valley Girl," "Peggy Sue Got Married," "Moonstruck," "Con Air," "Gone in 60 Seconds," "Face/Off," "National Treasure" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
