Mirren to hand out Oscars

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren is to be a presenter at the 83rd Academy Awards show in Los Angeles, the telecast's producers said.

Mirren has been nominated for an Oscar four times and won once. She took home the Academy Award in 2006 for her leading performance in "The Queen." Mirren earned a nomination for her leading performance in "The Last Station" in 2009 and received nominations for her supporting performances in 1994 for "The Madness of King George" and for "Gosford Park" in 2001. Her other film credits include "The Mosquito Coast," "Some Mother's Son," "Calendar Girls," "State of Play," "Red" and "The Tempest."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 are to be presented Sunday at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and televised live on the ABC Television Network.
