NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Sissy Spacek is working on a memoir tentatively titled "Barefoot Stories" and set for publication next year, Hyperion announced Friday.
The book will chronicle Spacek's life -- told in stories -- spanning her childhood in Texas, her arrival in New York with only a small suitcase and a guitar, and her adult life and distinguished acting career playing such iconic film characters as Loretta Lynn in "Coal Miner's Daughter" and the title role in "Carrie."
"I'm thrilled to be writing this book. I just wish I had studied harder in English class," Spacek joked in a statement.
"Sissy Spacek is not only one of the most admired and respected actors of our time, she's also an exquisite storyteller. We're overjoyed to be publishing her remarkable life story," added Ellen Archer, president and publisher of Hyperion.
