LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Actor Edward Furlong was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles for allegedly violating an order of protection his estranged wife had taken out against him.

Furlong was ordered in 2010 to stay 100 feet away from actress Rachael Kneeland for three years after his spouse alleged in court papers the "Terminator 2," "Before and After" and "The Green Hornet" star "grabbed me, bruised me, pushed me ... left messages saying he would hire people to come and beat me with chains and bats. He is smoking cocaine and doing other various drugs. He is very unpredictable."

Furlong has denied the allegations.

People.com quoted a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office as saying the 33-year-old actor was taken into custody Tuesday morning while in court for a status hearing on the restraining order because Kneeland said he violated it.

No details regarding how he supposedly did this were reported.

Furlong and Kneeland married in 2006 and filed for divorce in 2009. They are the parents of a 4-year-old son.
