LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Cybill Shepherd has landed a guest spot on the superhero comedy series "No Ordinary Family," ABC said Monday.

Shepherd is best known for her performances in the TV shows "Moonlighting," "Cybill," "The L Word" and "Psych," as well as in the movies "The Heartbreak Kid," "Taxi Driver" and "The Last Picture Show."

She is to play Barbara Crane, mother of Stephanie, who is played by Julie Benz on "Family."

"Twilight" co-star Jackson Rathbone is also to guest star on "Family" as Daphne's friend, Trent, the network said.

Kay Panabaker plays Daphne.

Shepherd and Rathbone are to appear in the Nov. 9 episode.
