ROME, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Actor Javier Bardem has confirmed in Rome his actress wife, Penelope Cruz, is pregnant.
Bardem, 41, made the announcement during a news conference to promote his role in the movie "Eat Pray Love" with Julia Roberts, People magazine reported.
"It is true," Bardem said of his wife's pregnancy. "I am very happy."
Bardem told reporters not to "make me say anything else," before telling them the child hasn't been named. The baby's gender was not noted.
Asked about managing a career and a family, Bardem said it is too early to speculate.
"It is a little too soon for me to be giving any advice," Bardem said. "I don't know yet. But I will find out soon."
When asked how it felt to be a sex symbol, Bardem said: "Sex symbol, me? You've got to be kidding."
