Written and to be directed by Amy Heckerling, the movie is the modern-day tale of two beautiful young vampires -- Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter -- living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize her immortality, the producers said in a news release.

Filming is to begin this week in Detroit.

The actors join the previously announced cast featuring Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis and Kristen Johnston.
