NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- Steven Van Zandt, a former cast member of "The Sopranos," says no film follow-up is planned at this time for the U.S. mob drama.

Van Zandt, who is also the guitarist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, told the New York Daily News, "There's no truth, unfortunately" to the rumor that a movie version of "The Sopranos" is in the works.

However, the musician and actor said he and "Sopranos" creator David Chase are working together on a film "about a band growing up in New Jersey in the '60s."
