'Sherlock' tops DVD sales, rental charts

LOS ANGELES, April 22 (UPI) -- "Sherlock Holmes" is No. 1 on the DVD sales and rental charts in the United States, Rentrak said Thursday.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD sales roster for the week ending April 18 is "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel," followed by "The Blind Side" at No. 3, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" at No. 4 and "The Princess and the Frog" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Alice in Wonderland (Special Un-Anniversary Edition)" at No. 6, "Pirate Radio" at No. 7, "Where the Wild Things Are" at No. 8, "Brothers" at No. 9 and "The Great Mouse Detective (Mystery in the Mist Edition)" at No. 10.

The second best-renting DVD for the week ending April 17 is "The Men Who Stare at Goats," followed by

"Up in the Air" at No. 3, "2012" at No. 4, "The Blind Side" at No. 5, "Brothers" at No. 6, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" at No. 7, "Couples Retreat" at No. 8, "Law Abiding Citizen" at No. 9 and "Ninja Assassin" at No. 10, Rentrak said.
