NEW YORK, April 16 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Susan Sarandon is using crutches after twisting her ankle during a recent visit to earthquake-devastated Haiti.

The New York Post said Sarandon appeared on crutches at Wednesday's New York premiere of "You Don't Know Jack," an HBO movie starring Al Pacino as assisted-suicide activist Dr. Jack Kervorkian. Sarandon has a supporting role in the TV movie.

"She slipped on mud and fell, badly twisting her ankle. But she was determined it wouldn't stop her," a source told the Post, explaining how the actress was hurt during a Haiti visit with fellow celebrities Demi Moore, Paul Haggis and Ben Stiller but still managed to work the red carpet at the "Jack" premiere.
