Baldwin, Roth to attend TCM film fest

LOS ANGELES, April 8 (UPI) -- Alec Baldwin, Tim Roth and Esther Williams are confirmed to take part in the upcoming first TCM Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles, organizers said.

Expected to attend the festivities between April 22-25 as well are Betty Garrett, Tab Hunter and John Carpenter.

They will be part of a lineup that includes such previously announced guests as Mel Brooks, Luise Rainer, Ernest Borgnine, Eva Marie Saint, Tony Curtis, Jon Voight, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Martin Landau, Anjelica Huston, Danny Huston, Buck Henry, Eli Wallach, Peter Bogdanovich and Stanley Donen.

Also on hand for the TCM Classic Film Festival will be author and film scholar Cari Beauchamp, who will introduce two films and moderate a panel, as well as author Marilyn Ann Moss, who will introduce the epic Raoul Walsh western "The Big Trail."

In addition, TCM announced the world premiere of a new restoration of the 1933 classic "King Kong," which was completed this month by Warner Bros. and MPI.

Other restorations added to the festival slate include "Murder, He Says" and "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman," TCM said Thursday.
