LOS ANGELES, March 19 (UPI) -- Marvel has offered U.S. actor Chris Evans the titular role in its forthcoming "Captain America" movie, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.
The comic-book adaptation is to be directed by Joe Johnston. It reportedly will start shooting this summer in England.
Evans is best known for his work in the two recent "Fantastic Four" flicks, which were also based on Marvel comic books.
The entertainment industry trade newspaper said Friday Marvel has not confirmed the offer to Evans.
The actor's representatives declined to comment, The Hollywood Reporter said.
