LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- "Star Wars" creator George Lucas is gearing up to produce a big-screen, animated musical, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Little is known about the project, said to be in pre-production at Lucas' Skywalker Ranch in California, other than that "TMNT" director Kevin Munroe is set to direct it based on a screenplay by "Elf" and "The Spiderwick Chronicles" scribe David Berenbaum.

Lucas has not directed a movie since "Revenge of the Sith" in 2005, but he wrote and is currently executive producing "Red Tails," an adventure movie about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American military pilots, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
