LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Turner Classic Movies says comedian and filmmaker Mel Brooks is to be a featured guest at its upcoming TCM Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles.

As part of the festivities in April, TCM said it will partner with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as they honor Brooks with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which marks its 50th anniversary this year.

Brooks, 83, will also introduce a festival screening of his first feature film, "The Producers," which earned him an Oscar for best original screenplay.

"Mel Brooks is one of the funniest men in the world today, and he has made life much happier for all of us, thanks to 'The Producers,' 'Blazing Saddles,' 'Young Frankenstein' and so many of his other movie comedies," TCM's Robert Osborne, who will be on-hand at the festival as its host, said in a statement. "We're very pleased he's going to join us at the TCM Classic Film Festival and look forward to toasting him in celebration of his well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."
