Redmond O'Neal arrested again

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Redmond O'Neal has been arrested for another alleged drug violation, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles district attorney's office said Tuesday.

The 24-year-old son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late actress Farrah Fawcett has long battled substance abuse problems and has been arrested several times for drug offenses.

He had been undergoing court-appointed treatment in a private facility since September after serving time in jail, but officials told People.com he was arrested again for a felony drug violation Dec. 29. E! News said he was arrested after he appeared intoxicated upon returning to the treatment facility after a 24-hour pass.

People.com said a judge Tuesday ordered O'Neal to spend 30 days in a prison rehab.

He is to be sentenced Feb. 2 for violating the terms of his probation, the magaine said.
