NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Former adult-film actress Janine Lindemulder says she is fighting her ex-husband, U.S. television personality Jesse James, for custody of their daughter.
James, best known for his work on TV's "Motorcycle Mania" and "Monster Garage," has been married to Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock since 2005. The couple have alleged Lindemulder is unfit to raise 5-year-old Sunny and reportedly are seeking full custody of the child.
Lindemulder served six months in prison last year for tax evasion and has admitted to past drug use, but she insisted in an interview with TV's "Inside Edition" that she's now sober and wants her daughter back.
"Sandra, yes, you're a wonderful movie star. But you're too damn cool to sit down and have a conversation in regards to this 5-year-old child. … Am I such a horrible person … that you can't even sit down … that's my gripe," Lindemulder said in the interview.
She also claimed that shortly before she gave birth to Sunny, James told her to move out of his house.
"I was eight months pregnant and I got the notice. … He didn't want her to have his last name … said, 'Find her a new daddy,'" she alleged.
Lindemulder told "Inside Edition" James only wanted to play a role in Sunny's life after he married Bullock.
"When Sandra Bullock and Jesse James say you're a bad influence, what do you say?" she said. "I've got to look inward, and absolutely, there's truth to that. I'm not this squeaky clean June Cleaver. ... But I am her mom… I can't buy her a lot of things, but we have a bond. ... I am the best mom that I know how to be."
