BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Warner Bros. studio says principal photography has begun on "Due Date," a collaboration with Legendary Pictures starring Robert Downey Jr.

The film is being directed by Todd Phillips, whose most recent venture with Warner Bros. and Legendary, "The Hangover," broke box-office records this summer.

"Due Date" stars Downey and Zach Galifianakis, one of the stars of "The Hangover," as "two unlikely companions who are thrown together on a road trip that turns out to be as life-changing as it is outrageous," the studio said in a news release.

Also cast in the film are Downey's "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" co-star Michelle Monaghan and Jamie Foxx, who shared the screen with Downey in "The Soloist."

"Due Date" will be filming in various locations around the United States, including Georgia, New Mexico, Arizona and Los Angeles, Warner Bros. said.

The movie is scheduled for a fall 2010 theatrical release.
