'Big Brother's GinaMarie fired from day job over racial slurs caught on camera

Another "Big Brother" contestant has found out the hard way that comments made on camera in the "Big Brother" house can have serious repercussions in the outside world.

TMZ reported Wednesday that East Coast USA Pageant, Inc., fired GinaMarie Zimmerman, an employee for five years, following a series of racial remarks made during the show's uncensored online feed, which runs 24 hours a day on CBS.com.

"We have never known this side of Ginamarie or have ever witnessed such acts of racism in the past," Zimmerman's employer said in a statement.

We are actually thankful that this show let us see Ginamarie for who she truly is as we would never want her to be a role model to our future contestants. It is unfortunate that her hateful words were able to be witnessed by so many thousands of "Big Brother" fans as they were rightfully so deeply offended.

The announcement comes just hours after Aaryn Gries was dropped by her modeling agency. Among other things, Zimmerman said on camera that she receives "n***** insurance" because she is poor, while Gries told an Asian contestant to "go make some f***ing rice."

Reality Blurred has put together a list of those comments, along with equally offensive remarks made by other contestants.

Some "Big Brother" viewers have called on show producers to edit the contestants racial comments into the broadcast, so that TV viewers can "show these people for who they actually are," as Reality Blurred's Andy Denhart put it.

Ragan Fox, a contestant from season 12, has written an open letter asking CBS to air even the worst of this season's behavior.

"What’s the point of casting racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities if production’s going to edit out the racism, ethnic discrimination, and homophobia that these people encounter inside the house?" Fox wrote.

CBS released a statement addressing its contestants' comments on Tuesday:

"Big Brother" is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 -- and seeing every moment of their lives. At times, the houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone. We certainly find the statements made by several of the houseguests on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on "Big Brother," either on any live feed from the House or during the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program.
