Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger kicked off their three-day "wedding party" on Saturday in Cannes, Frances, US Weekly reported on Sunday, with the actual marriage ceremony to take place on Canada Day, June 1.
A Saturday tweet from the CEO of the management company that represents Lavigne launched a flurry of reports that the couple had already gotten married this weekend.

But a source told US Weekly that Heller "never tweeted the wedding happened, just said he was on his way and excited for his friend." Another source said that the couple hadn't gotten married just yet.
According to E! News, the private wedding ceremony will take place Monday night at a location so secret they have yet to tell their guests.
"[Avril] picked Cannes because she's spent significant time in Paris in the past few years and summered in places like St. Tropez," a source told E! "She's very immersed in French food, ambiance and culture. It's her favorite place to be."
The 28-year-old Lavigne announced her engagement to 38-year-old Kroeger back in August.
