Dax Shepard to PETA: I can't be a 'sexy vegetarian' because I eat chicken

Looks like PETA mistook Dax Shepard for a vegetarian.

After topping the list of this year's sexiest vegetarians, alongside his fiance Kristen Bell, the 38-year-old actor took to Twitter to set the record straight.

"I'm really flattered to be named 'Sexiest Vegetarian' with @IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken," Shepard wrote Thursday.

"I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to be more like @IMKristenBell, but I'm not there yet," he added.

PETA took the news in stride, saying in a statement that the organization was glad he "aspired to be more like" his partner. They even offered to send him a "vegetarian starter kit."

"We're delighted to recognize Kristen Bell as our Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity," PETA said (via E! News).
