Demi Lovato speaks out following father's death

Demi Lovato thanked her fans for their support via Twitter following the death of her estranged father, Patrick Lovato.

Lovato's older sister Dallas Lovato broke the news about their father's passing in a tweet on Saturday.

“Rest in peace daddy I love you,” she wrote.

In turn, the "Heart Attack" singer began receiving condolences and messages of support from her over 15 million followers and fellow entertainers.

“My thoughts are with you Demi. X,” tweeted her "X Factor" boss Simon Cowell.

According to Us Weekly, Lovato's father died of cancer. The details of where, how or when he died have not yet been revealed.
