A 25-year-old Connecticut woman was crowned the newest Miss USA at the annual Las Vegas pageant Sunday and will go on to represent the U.S. at Miss Universe this winter.

Erin Brady, of South Clastonbury, Conn., won the title wearing a gold and white gown and answering a question saying she agreed with the Supreme Court decision to uphold widespread DNA testing.

Brady, a financial accountant for Prudential Retirement, is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She will receive an apartment in New York for a year and spend her year-long reign on a national speaking tour raising awareness for breast and ovarian cancer.

Last year's Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, went on to win the Miss Universe pageant, the first American to do so in 16 years.
