Miley Cyrus responds to Amanda Bynes bashing on Twitter

Amanda Bynes tweeted that she thinks Liam Hemsworth of "Hunger Games" fame is the "most gorgeous man on the face of the earth."

By comparison, that's a huge compliment -- Bynes has made a laundry list of celebrities she finds "ugly," including rapper Drake, pop singer Rihanna, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen and playmate of the year alumna Jenny McCarthy.

Trouble is, Hemsworth is engaged to Miley Cyrus, who just became the latest on Bynes' "ugly" list.

Bynes tweeted a photo of Cyrus on Wednesday with the words "Ur ugly." The tweet-attack may be related to a fling Bynes had with her fiance in 2009.

Cyrus didn't take the bait, however.

"I won't even entertain that thought. I think it's all so sad and I don't want to add any fuel to that fire," Cyrus said. "It's really so sad to me. I was rooting for her comeback until [she] started attacking me."

The tiff may not be about Hemsworth, though, Cyrus said.

"I just thought it was hilarious that she mentioned my name the moment I was the worldwide trending topic on Twitter," Cyrus said. "It's just funny, the moment you're a trending topic how many people want your name to come out of their mouth so somehow they can associate and maybe they can become a trending topic."

Regardless of her motive, Bynes appears to have had a change of heart since then.

Trending or not, she still hasn't let up on Drake.
