"I'm super excited, I have added another little feather to my cap," Burruss said. "You know how much I love Broadway. So, to have an opportunity to join such a wonderful team, I mean, I'm so excited about this play. It's just amazing, I'm overjoyed."

Deadline said Burruss will produce the play with Brian Moreland, Ron Simons, Diana DiMenna, Samira Wiley and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

"As we know, the best theater holds a mirror up and reflects the world to us," Burruss said in a statement. "Thoughts of a Colored Man does something that is quietly revolutionary: it holds a mirror up to Black men and shows everyone the strong, wonderful, funny, caring, vulnerable, emotionally complex people that they are."

Burruss said the play "speaks to everyone regardless of gender, race, or age."

Thoughts of a Colored Man is written by Keenan Scott II and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III. Dyllón Burnside, Bryan Terrell Clark, Da'Vinchi, Luke James, Forrest McClendon, Tristan "Mack" Wilds and Keith David star.
