'Jersey Shore's Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino celebrates baby boy's birth

May 28 (UPI) -- Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is a new dad.

The 38-year-old television personality recently welcomed his first child, son Romeo Reign, with his wife, Lauren Sorrentino.

Sorrentino shared the news Thursday on Instagram alongside a slideshow of photos of himself with Lauren Sorrentino and their baby boy.

"Romeo Reign Sorrentino," he captioned the post.

Sorrentino's Jersey Shore co-stars Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio were among those to congratulate the couple in the comments.

"I'm so happy!!!!!" Farley wrote.

"WELCOME BABY!!!!!!" Polizzi added.

"Congratulations brother send my love to Laurenzz!!! So happy he's look like Laurenz and not you miss you bro!!!" Ortiz-Magro said.

"Welcome to the family Romeo!!!!!! can't wait to meet ya," DelVecchio wrote.

Sorrentino and Lauren Sorrentino married in November 2018 and announced in November that they were expecting their first child after a previous miscarriage.

The couple said in December that they were expecting a baby boy.

"Mama & Daddy are thrilled and Mama is about to start full on nursery planning!" the pair said on Instagram.

Sorrentino came to fame on the MTV reality series Jersey Shore. He returned to star on the sequel series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which will return for Season 4, Part 2 next week.
