Britain's Princess Beatrice pregnant with first child

May 19 (UPI) -- Princess Beatrice is going to be a mom.

The 32-year-old British royal is expecting her first child with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Buckingham Palace shared the news Wednesday on the royal family's official Instagram account.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year," the post reads. "The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

Beatrice and Mozzi married in July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge at Windsor Castle. The couple originally planned to marry in May 2020 but changed their plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beatrice is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II. She is the elder sister of Princess Eugenie and the cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Eugenie gave birth to her first child, son August Philip Hawke, with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, in February.

Harry is expecting his second child, a daughter, with his wife, Meghan Markle.
