Dec. 2 (UPI) -- NBC is "working" with Gabrielle Union in the wake of the actress' exit from America's Got Talent.
The network issued a statement Sunday following controversy over Union's dismissal from the reality talent competition.
"We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture," the statement reads.
"We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate."
Union appeared to respond Sunday by re-posting a tweet from writer Joelle Monique. In the post, Monique outlines the tenets of a "solid apology" -- sincerely admitting wrong directly to the offended party, being twice as loud while correcting a mistake, and laying out steps to correct behavior in the future.
"This! This! AND THIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!" Union wrote.
News broke in November that Union and Julianne Hough would not return as judges in America's Got Talent Season 15. Variety said last week that Union complained about racism on the show's set prior to being fired.
Following the report, NBC and series producer Fremantle attributed Union and Hough's exits to a normal refreshing of the show's talent.
"America's Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show," the companies said. "The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT's enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously."
Union and Hough joined America's Got Talent in Season 14.
