July 29 (UPI) -- Lionsgate Games and developer Bloober Team have released a new gameplay trailer for upcoming horror video game Blair Witch, based on the film franchise of the same name.
The clip, released on Monday, showcases how players will be exploring the haunted Black Hills Forest alongside a canine companion who can be commanded to help find clues.

The game follows the story of Ellis, a former police officer who joins the search for a missing boy in 1996.
Ellis' journey takes a turn for the worse when he starts to encounter supernatural forces within the forest and begins to lose his mind.
Blair Witch is set to arrive for the Xbox One and PC on Aug. 30.
