May 23 (UPI) -- WWE has announced that Raw superstar Ruby Riott underwent successful shoulder surgery.

The surgery was to repair a bilateral injury to the grappler's right shoulder. Riott will be out indefinitely as she is set to receive surgery for the same injury on her left shoulder at a later date.

"One down, one to go!" Riott said on Instagram Wednesday alongside a photo of herself smiling from a hospital bed.

Riott has not been featured on WWE programming in weeks. She is best known as the leader of The Riott Squad which also consisted of members Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. The group was recently disbanded, however, when Morgan was moved to Smackdown as part of WWE's yearly superstar shake-up.

Riott was featured in two championship matches against Ronda Rousey in 2019, including a bout at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in February and on Raw the following night.
