Rosie O'Donnell's daughter Chelsea gives birth to first child

Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Rosie O'Donnell is a new grandma.

The 56-year-old television personality took to Twitter Wednesday after her daughter Chelsea O'Donnell welcomed a baby girl, Skylar Rose, with boyfriend Jacob Bourassa.

O'Donnell shared a photo of Chelsea holding Skylar in her hospital bed. The 21-year-old shows a smile as she and Bourassa pose for the camera.

"my daughter chels - jake - and skylar rose my first grandchild!!! #love #life #NANA," O'Donnell captioned the post.

O'Donnell followed up with a picture of herself with her newborn granddaughter.

"nana & skylar #bigLOVE," she wrote.

Bourassa announced Chelsea's pregnancy in a Facebook post in June, saying, "can't wait to meet my little one." O'Donnell confirmed the news through her rep the same month.

"Yes, she is pregnant," the star told People. "We have reconnected."

O'Donnell and Chelsea have had a strained relationship in the past. The pair had a falling out in August 2015 after Chelsea went missing, with Chelsea later leaving to live with her birth mother.
