Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Charlie Sheen celebrated on Twitter one year of sobriety by displaying a commemorative coin from Alcoholics Anonymous.

"So, THIS happened yesterday!" the actor said on Tuesday alongside an image of the coin that features a Roman numeral I and the words "Unity," "Service" and "Recovery."

"A fabulous moment, in my renewed journey. #TotallyFocused" Sheen continued.

Sheen previously discussed his battles with substance abuse in January 2016 while appearing on The Dr. Oz Show, stating that he went back to drugs after being diagnosed with HIV.

"There was a stretch where I didn't drink for 11 years. No cocaine, no booze for 11 years. So I know that I have that in me," he said at the time.
