'Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3,' 'Mortal Kombat 11' arrive at Game Awards

Dec. 6 (UPI) -- The 2018 Game Awards offered a number of world premiere trailers for some of the biggest video games coming in 2019.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

The first big announcement of the night was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

The trailer featured all of Marvel's top superheros including Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine and the Guardians of the Galaxy teaming up to take on a host of villains known as The Black Order.

The third entry appears to continue Marvel Ultimate Alliance's tradition of offering cooperative, multiplayer action.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Activision is returning to the world of Crash Bandicoot with a remake of PlayStation 1 kart racer Crash Team Racing titled Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled.

The gameplay clip showcased the updated graphics of Nitro-Fueled and how fans can race to the finish line against their friends online. The title is set for release on June 21 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Stranger Things 3: The Game

Netflix's hit supernatural series Stranger Things is being adapted into a video game that will follow the events of the show's upcoming third season.

Stranger Things 3: The Game, is a top-down, action game that features old-school, 16-bit graphics. The announcement trailer featured series characters Joyce Byers, Jim Hopper and Lucas Sinclair working together to combat enemies inside a laboratory.

The title is a collaboration between Netflix and developer BonusXP.

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 made a surprise appearance with a bloody and violent cinematic trailer that was presented by series co-creator Ed Boon.

The footage featured Mortal Kombat mainstays Raiden and Scorpion battling it out to the death using weapons. Raiden won the battle after exploding Scorpion's head before the seemingly real Scorpion arrived onto the scene to decapitate the thunder god.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Persona 5's Joker coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo announced at The Game Awards that Persona 5 main protagonist Joker will be a playable character in crossover fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Joker made his appearance while interrupting the ceremony alongside other characters from Persona 5.

Latest Headlines
