Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Jon Gosselin was granted sole custody of his son Collin Gosselin after appearing before a judge Tuesday in Pennsylvania.
E! News confirmed the 41-year-old DJ was awarded temporary legal and physical custody of 14-year-old Collin after his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, failed to show up in court.
Kate, who stars on the TLC series Kate Plus 8, had requested Monday for the hearing to be postponed, according to Us Weekly.
Entertainment Tonight said Kate is unable to appeal temporary full custody. Sources said Gosselin is focused on Collin and enjoying the holidays with his family.
Kate enrolled Collin in a program away from home in 2016 due to his reported learning and behavioral issues. Gosselin told Entertainment Tonight in November 2016 that Kate refused to tell him where their son was being treated.
"No one knows where he is. I don't even know. I have an idea where he is, but I don't really know where he is," the star said.
"Kate says Collin is in a special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems," he added.
Gosselin and Kate are parents to eight children: Collin and his sextuplet siblings and 18-year-old twins Cara and Mady. Gosselin shared a photo with Collin and daughter Hannah last week after picking out a Christmas tree.
